Here the Psalter from The Message by Eugene Peterson:
Hallelujah!
Thank God! Pray to him by name!
Tell everyone you meet what he has done!
Sing him songs, belt out hymns,
Translate his wonders into music!
Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs,
You who seek God. Live a happy life!
Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works;
Be alert for signs of his presence.
Remember the world of wonders he has made,
His miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered –
Oh seed of Abraham, his servant,
Oh child of Jacob, his chosen.
Thank God! Pray to him by name!
Tell everyone you meet what he has done!
Sing him songs, belt out hymns,
Translate his wonders into music!
Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs,
You who seek God. Live a happy life!
Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works;
Be alert for signs of his presence.
Remember the world of wonders he has made,
His miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered –
Oh seed of Abraham, his servant,
Oh child of Jacob, his chosen.
Do you have a heart full of gratitude? How little we as Presbyterians actually spend time telling others what God has done. How often we get overwhelmed by our lives and do not live happy lives. This week, be alert for signs of God’s presence in your life – show God’s love for you by being happy and thankful – and try, just try, to tell one person this week about what God has done!
